Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Because netbettracker.com is strictly a passive, manual financial record-keeping utility, we minimize data collection to protect your privacy. We only collect data that you explicitly choose to provide or enter.

  • Account Data: When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication credentials.
  • Financial Tracking Data (Ledger Entries): We store the data you manually input, including custom labels, transaction amounts, ATM fees, and dates of entry. This data is used solely to generate your financial dashboard visualizations.
  • Payment Data: All premium subscriptions are processed entirely by our secure, third-party payment partner, Stripe. We never store, view, or have access to your full credit card numbers or banking details.

2. Tracking, Analytics, and Infrastructure Processors

To stay true to our mission of radical honesty and total privacy:

  • Zero Behavioral Marketing Pixels: We do not use Facebook Pixels, TikTok Pixels, or any other behavioral marketing ad trackers to retarget you across the web.
  • Core Functional Local Storage: We do not use persistent marketing cookies. We strictly utilize your browser's standard session data to keep you securely logged into your account. We use localized browser localStorage to permanently meter and enforce our 3-attempt limit on the Quick-Pick Generator tool for unauthenticated visitors.
  • Third-Party Platform Infrastructure: To monitor site performance and app health, we securely utilize the following platforms with safe, data-minimized configurations:
    • PostHog: Captures internal application navigation paths, tool engagement clicks, and feature conversion rates. This allows us to optimize our tools and understand funnel performance without collecting external browsing history.
    • Sentry: Automatically captures unhandled system errors, serverless edge worker exceptions, and user layout crashes in real time so our development team can deploy quick bug fixes.

3. How Your Data is Stored & Secured

Your data is securely hosted and managed using our secure cloud database backend infrastructure.

  • We use industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit to protect your records.
  • Your financial tracking data is strictly private and is only visible to you when logged into your secure account dashboard. We cannot view or access your private ledger entries.

4. No Commercial Sale or Sharing of Gambling Data

We believe in absolute data privacy for your financial awareness journey.

  • We NEVER sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal tracking data or financial logs to third-party advertisers, casinos, sportsbooks, betting companies, or data brokers.
  • Your data is used exclusively to keep your personal app dashboard updated in real-time.

5. Absolute Data Ownership & Deletion

You retain 100% ownership of your tracked financial history. You have the right to completely wipe your ledger clean at any time. If you choose to delete your account, all your saved ledger rows, wagered tracking, and fee tracking stored in our backend will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our active databases.

6. Why We Are Allowed to Use Your Data (Legal Bases)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: creating and running your account, storing your ledger, and providing premium features.
  • Legal obligation: keeping tax, accounting, and payment records for the periods the law requires.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping the Service secure, preventing fraud and abuse, and fixing errors — balanced against your privacy rights.
  • Consent: optional analytics storage and marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.

Under Canadian law (PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25) we rely on your express or implied consent, and on the limited exceptions those laws permit.

7. How Long We Keep Data (Retention)

  • Account and ledger data: kept while your account is active. After you delete your account, active-database records are removed promptly and residual copies age out of encrypted backups within 30 days.
  • Billing and tax records: invoices and payment records are retained for up to 7 years because tax law requires it.
  • Support emails: up to 24 months.
  • Analytics and error logs: up to 12 months, then deleted or aggregated so they no longer identify you.

8. Your Rights and How to Use Them (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25)

No matter where you access the Service from, you can ask us to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and know who we share it with.
  • Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your account and data (right to erasure / right to be forgotten).
  • Export your ledger in a portable format.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent to optional analytics or emails.
  • Ask us not to sell or share your personal information — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not process sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics.
  • Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
  • Quebec residents additionally have the right to data portability and to be informed about automated decision-making. We do not make decisions about you by automated means that produce legal effects.

You can delete your account and wipe your ledger yourself from Account Settings at any time. For anything else, email our Privacy Officer at info@netbettracker.com. We verify requests through your account email and respond within 30 days (or 45 days where the CCPA allows an extension, with notice). Authorised agents may submit requests with written proof of authority. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your data protection authority — the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, your EU supervisory authority, or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be stored or processed in Canada, the United States, or the European Union by the providers listed on our Subprocessors page. Where data leaves your country we rely on the transfer safeguards those providers offer, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security Incidents

No online service can promise perfect security. We use access controls, encryption in transit and at rest, and row-level database restrictions so accounts cannot read each other’s data. If a confidentiality incident creates a risk of serious injury, we will notify affected users and the relevant regulators without undue delay, as required by Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA, the GDPR, and applicable state breach laws.

12. Cookies

Details of every cookie and browser-storage key we use, and how to control them, are in our Cookie & Local Storage Policy.

13. Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when our practices change. The “Last Updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and we will give notice by email or in-app before any material change takes effect.
